Cologio began with a pair of clippers, a soggy yellow Lab named Rosco, and a deep love for dogs.
For over ten years, we've poured our hearts into a small, family-owned grooming salon called Doggy Daydreamz—a space we built from scratch in 2014 after one too many failed attempts at bathing Rosco at home. He hated water, crates, and stairs (in that order), and every bath turned into an Olympic event involving suds, sweat, and a soaked living room floor.
Determined to make bath time easier—not just for us, but for every frustrated dog parent—we opened Doggy Daydreamz, a crate-free, stress-free grooming salon where every detail is designed with your pup in mind. Since then, it’s become a second home for hundreds of dogs, filled with wagging tails, caring groomers, and the kind of community that only true pet lovers create.
As the salon grew, so did the questions:
“Why does my doodle always mat up?”
“How do I trim a terrier without turning him into a cartoon character?”
And so, TheDogBuzz.com was born—a blog and educational hub we co-created with our incredible grooming pros, Brittany Baird and Christine Chang. Soon after came The Dog Buzz YouTube channel, where we took our tips, tricks, and salon smarts online to help pet parents everywhere feel confident grooming at home.
But even with all that experience, one problem kept surfacing: we couldn’t find a shampoo that met our standards. Some were gentle but ineffective. Others cleaned well but were packed with harsh chemicals. Nothing hit that perfect balance between safe, natural ingredients and salon-quality results.
So, we made it ourselves.
Cologio was born from necessity, built from years of hands-on grooming experience, and inspired by our dogs—including the one who hated baths the most. The name reflects our love for clean, comforting scents and our commitment to creating products that are kind to pets and the planet.
